Monopoly Megapots — Bonus Features
Hold and Spin is the whole game: it holds the Megapots, it holds the x2-x200 Hotel multipliers, and it can fire again inside Free Spins. Here is every rule Big Time Gaming publishes.
How Each Feature Pays
Trigger, mechanics, multiplier ranges and where each one actually matters. New to the reels? Start with the Monopoly Megapots how-to-play guide.
Hold and Spin
How to Trigger
Six or more Coins, Houses or Cards landing anywhere on the reels — position is irrelevant.
What Happens
The triggering symbols lock and the feature opens with three respins. From there, every symbol on screen becomes an individual reel of its own, each able to reveal another Coin, House or Card. Every time a new symbol is revealed the respin counter resets to three, so a screen that keeps filling keeps the feature alive.
Multipliers
None directly from the respins; value comes from the Coins collected and from the Hotel multipliers below.
Variants
Available through Bonus Buy at 35x your stake, and it can also trigger again inside Free Spins.
Strategy
This is the only place the Megapots can be won, so it is the feature that matters. There is nothing to decide once it starts — the reset-to-three rule means the round runs as long as the screen keeps producing symbols.
| Trigger | 6+ Coins, Houses or Cards |
| Position | Anywhere on the reels |
| Respins | 3 to start |
| Reset rule | Back to 3 on any new symbol |
| Each symbol | Becomes its own mini reel |
Houses, the Hotel and x2–x200 Multipliers
How to Trigger
Four Houses appearing during Hold and Spin.
What Happens
The four Houses merge into a single Hotel. That Hotel collects every Coin currently on screen, and each space it frees up is upgraded with a random multiplier between x2 and x200. Those multipliers stay on the board — if a Coin later lands in one of those spaces, its value is boosted by whatever multiplier is sitting there.
Multipliers
x2 to x200, assigned at random to each space the Hotel frees.
Variants
The multiplied spaces persist for the rest of the Hold and Spin round, so an early Hotel is worth more than a late one.
Strategy
An early Hotel is the difference between a modest Hold and Spin and a memorable one, because it leaves a board full of multiplied spaces for the remaining respins to fill. Nothing about it is a choice, but it is the mechanic worth watching for.
| Trigger | Four Houses in the feature |
| Effect | Hotel collects all Coins on screen |
| Freed spaces | Upgraded with a multiplier |
| Multiplier range | x2–x200 |
| Later Coins | Boosted by the space they land on |
Mini, Midi and Mega Megapots
How to Trigger
Three matching Cards of the same colour — blue, red or purple — during Hold and Spin.
What Happens
Three matching Cards merge into a Mini, Midi or Mega Megapots icon. Land three matching Megapots icons and the corresponding prize is awarded. The three pot values are displayed above the reels and are redrawn at random with every spin, and Big Time Gaming is explicit that they can only be awarded inside the Hold and Spin feature.
Multipliers
The pot values themselves, which change on every spin. The studio publishes no fixed figure for any tier.
Variants
Three tiers — Mini, Midi and Mega — each reached through its own Card colour.
Strategy
The pots are random prizes rather than progressives that build toward a due payout. Because the values are redrawn every spin, the pot you see before the feature starts is not the pot you will be playing for.
| Tiers | Mini, Midi, Mega |
| Card colours | Blue, red, purple |
| Merge | 3 Cards → 1 Megapots icon |
| Award | 3 matching icons |
| Won only in | Hold and Spin |
Free Spins & the Uncapped Multiplier
How to Trigger
Bonus Buy at 100x stake for 10 spins; Scatters on the extra reel extend the round once it is running.
What Happens
The win multiplier starts at 1 and climbs by 1 every time a Coin, House or Card lands. Big Time Gaming states there is no limit on it and no slowdown. Hold and Spin can trigger inside the round as well, which stacks the two features. Scatters appear exclusively on the extra reel during the round: three award 5 additional Free Spins, four award 10.
Multipliers
Starts at x1, +1 per Coin, House or Card landed, with no published cap.
Variants
Bonus Buy entry costs 100x stake for 10 spins. Big Time Gaming does not publish the natural base-game trigger.
Strategy
Everything compounds here: more symbols means a higher multiplier and a better chance of a Hold and Spin inside the round. The studio does name a ceiling for the game as a whole — 98,850x stake maximum exposure against 980x for a base-game spin. That gap is the entire reason to be in this feature.
| Multiplier start | x1 |
| Climbs by | +1 per Coin, House or Card |
| Multiplier cap | None stated |
| Game ceiling | 98,850x stake |
| Scatters | Extra reel only |
| Extra spins | 3 Scatters = 5, 4 Scatters = 10 |
